Before committing to working with me, a Melbourne product photographer, you probably want to know a little bit more about my experience and my business story.
I’ll begin with acknowledging the obvious- I’m head over heels for the art of photography and capturing the essence of people, families, brands and products.
To understand my photography story, I have to take you back to my introduction to the photography world which came through my dad.
He was a wedding photographer and first showed me life behind the lens when he invited me to be his Photographer’s Assistant. You could say I was hooked from the beginning and after soaking in all there is to know about photography, I began my very own wedding photography business along with family photo sessions and became a proud member of the AIPP (Australian Institute of Professional Photographers).
If you’re wondering why I’ve made the choice to also focus on being a Melbourne branding photographer, the decision can be largely attributed to the unpredictable nature of 2020.
At the beginning of 2020 I moved to Melbourne and simultaneously, like life for so many others, COVID-19 changed my world, both in my personal life and working life.
After months of postponed weddings and family photo sessions I found myself longing to be creative through photography and wanting to spend time behind the lens again.
So, whilst I eagerly await the day where heading off to a wedding or a family photo shoot is normal and doesn’t involve social distancing, I’m happily doing more of something I haven’t had much time to focus on over the last little while…. offering a brand and product photography service.
After shooting countless weddings and photographing wedding details (which often involved intricate details on dresses, accessories and the likes of reception place settings, wedding cakes and bonbonnieres); along with shooting products on occasion whilst living in Tasmania, I decided now was the time to pivot my photography services to focus on products and brands.
It feels exciting and very much like a win win situation as it allows me to continue to create through my camera whilst also placing a smile on business owners faces.
Product photography requires attention to detail which is something I love love love to do. From intricate features to beautiful hues it really is ‘all in the details’ and delivering images that make you and your customers excited about your products motivates me to create something really special every time.
I am a perfectionist in my approach to photography, so I decided to utilise my evenings (once the children have gone to sleep) to take online courses and further educate myself in product photography.
I’m upskilling as much as I can to ensure when we work together the result is always a collection of images that:
- Speak to your audience
- Build your social media profile and engagement
- Elevate your brands visual aesthetic
- Provide content for social media
